Winton Club of Winchester Announces Pam Donaldson as

Producer of Winton Cabaret 2015, “Spotlight On The Red Carpet”

The Winton Club of Winchester, a non-profit women's organization dedicated exclusively to supporting Winchester Hospital in service and fundraising activities, is pleased to announce Pam Donaldson as this year’s producer for the annual Winton Club Cabaret, “Spotlight On The Red Carpet”, which will be performed January 27-31, 2015 at the Winchester Town Hall Maurer Auditorium.

Pam, who was born and raised in Milton, had “always wanted to come North” to a community comparable to Milton .  Pam and her husband Bob have now been residents of Winchester for over 33 years.  Their three children; Joann, Tom and T.J. were born at Winchester hospital, raised in Winchester .  T.J., who works for Disney, participated in the Winchester Cooperative Theater for many years working Executive Director Cathy Alexander  during his high school years.  Pam also helped out with the theater sewing costumes while T.J. was there.

In Milton , Pam’s family enjoyed membership in the Milton Hoosic Club, a family-oriented neighborhood club which dates back to 1891.  Pam remembers their annual Cabaret shows, in which her mother performed as a drill-team member and also pulled the curtain.  Pam, who loves to sew, cross-stitch and do needlework, lent her talents to the cabaret by helping create and sew costumes for many years.  The Milton Hoosic Club cabaret, Pam recalls, is where she first saw the tambourine number “Tambos” performed with seven men. During her first year in the Winton Cabaret Pam learned that the Winton Tambos was based on the Milton Hoosic Club tambos and the Winton Tambos is now made up of 25 women.

Pam, who retired from her job as Administrative Assistant at Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation shortly after moving to Winchester to raise her children. When they were all in school she began to work as the secretary at Crawford Memorial United Methodist Church .  It was there that she met Winton Club member and former club president Sue Powers, who is the Associate Director at the Community for Healthy Living at Winchester Hospital .   Sue introduced Pam to membership in the Winton Club.

As the years passed, and the kids were entering college, Pam returned to the work force and went on to join the staff at the Community for Healthy Living, where she was employed for several years.

Pam, a member of the Winton Club for 16 years, has served on just about every committee, including in the Winton Club Gift Shop on the main campus of Winchester Hospital , on the Winton Club Board as treasurer, and in several other capacities, along with chairing many cabaret committees.    Since her first year as a Winton Club member, Pam has participated in the Tambos, Drill Team and Winton Women performances of the annual show.

Pam concluded that these Winton Club and cabaret experiences, coupled with her own family’s cabaret experiences in Milton, Cabaret Producer was the next logical step for her.  She is honored to produce the cabaret in honor of her late mother.

Through the support and generosity of the annual cabaret corporate sponsors, advertisers, patrons and audiences, as well as the patronage of the Winton Club Gift Shop,  the Winton Club continues is philanthropic support of Winchester Hospital.  Over the years, the club has donated over 3 million dollars to Winchester Hospitaland the Center for Cancer Care, most recently to the development of the Healing Garden

Pam loves living in Winchester with her family and continues to support the community and all of its endeavors.   Bob has been retired for a few years, the family has spread out, and he and Pam have enjoyed traveling with some of their spare time.  Their first grandchild, who will be delivered at Winchester Hospital , is expected to arrive in March, shortly after Cabaret 2015 wraps up.

Since she was asked to chair the 2015 Cabaret production last February, Pam has been busy with plans for the show.  This year’s upbeat and fun show, “Spotlight On The Red Carpet”, will take you on a musical journey, including popular Oscar, Tony and Grammy award-winners and nominated songs that will leave you walking out of the show and singing them long after the show has ended.  The musical selections will cover a huge spectrum, with something for every age to enjoy.  You can also expect tons of glitz and glamour!  Please join us in January as we put on the spotlight to benefit Winchester Hospital , and you will then be able to see what the performers are wearing!

All profits from “Spotlight On The Red Carpet” help to support Winchester Hospital and their ongoing dedication to health and community.  The cast of talented performers includes staff members from Winchester Hospital, performers from local community theater groups, local professional entertainers, and a core of enthusiastic supporters of Winchester Hospital who will spend all of January preparing for this fundraiser.

“Spotlight On The Red Carpet” show dates are January 27 – 31, 2015 at the Winchester Town Hall Auditorium ,71 Mt. Vernon  Street. Auditions will be held December 8 & 9, 2014 at 7 PM at Winchester Town Hall Auditorium.
