Thank you from Jean Buckley
2012 Winton Cabaret Producer
In our fast paced 24/7 world the theme of TIME certainly proved to be not only a plentiful topic for songs, sayings, ideas, and images but also very meaningful to so many. Numerous times during show week I heard how a particular song or quote touched someone, making them realize how precious TIME is to every one of us.
The saying by Harvey MacKay was an inspiration for “It’s About TIME”:
“Time is free, but it’s priceless.
You can’t own it but you can use it.
You can’t keep it, but you can spend it.
Once you’ve lost it, you can never get it back.”
This year, as Producer and Cabaret Chair, I set about, through songs, dance, and sayings, to express how important and precious time to all of us. The list of songs and quotes about Time were seemingly endless. Old Time favorite songs like “It Was a Very Good Year” (Frank Sinatra), and “Hot Time In The Old Town Tonight”(Guy Lombardo) were paired with newer songs “Time of Our Lives” (Miley Cyrus) and “If I Could Turn Back Time”(Cher). Many of the Winton Club members also participated in the number “Through the Years” (Kenny Rogers) to acknowledge the close history of The Winton Club and Winchester Hospital who is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of their founding.
I am so grateful of the countless hours of Time given so generously by the Winton Club members and their husbands, our talented cast, professional staff and so many others, to make Cabaret 2012 a reality. On behalf of The Winton Club I also want to thank the many people and organizations that gave their support to our 2012 Cabaret:
Thank you to our audience who came and spent some of their Time to join us for an evening. I hope everyone enjoyed everything from “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?” (Chicago), a country line dance to “Good Time” (Alan Jackson), the Hospital Staff number “I’ve Had the Time of My Life” (Dirty Dancing) to the heartfelt “I’m Gonna Love You Through It”(Martina McBride) and so many others.
Thank you to our Program Book advertisers, local business and Patrons who faithfully support our efforts every year.
Thank you to our Corporate Sponsors including our Presenting Sponsor, (Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center); our Circle Sponsors (HealthBridge Management & Lexington and Wilmington Health Care Centers, Lucia Ristorante & Bar, Patricia Annino & Prince Lobel, Piantedosi Bread Shoppe); our Evening Sponsors (Century 21 Commonwealth, Fitness Together, Peterson Party Center, Inc., Salter HealthCare Services, Winchester Savings Bank); our Platinum Sponsors (Action Ambulance, Dunkin’ Donuts, Exponent, Healthcare Financial, Kajko, Weisman, Colassanti, & Stein, LLP); and our Production Partners (Armstrong Flag Company, G.R. As it said in the last line of “Closing Time”(Semisonic) our Finale song: “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end”; it is now the end of “It’s About TIME” and the beginning of a new journey for the 2013 Winton Club Cabaret Producer & Chair Lianne Green. Congratulations and Best Wishes to Lianne for a fantastic 2013 Cabaret Show!
